Halifax is the heart of the downtown business district. It is situated on a peninsula accessed by two ferries, two bridges and a couple of key road arteries. Living on the peninsula offers an easy commute to work or one of the universities located on the peninsula - Saint Mary's University (SMU), Dalhousie University, the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD), the Atlantic School of Theology, or Nova Scotia Community College's (NSCC) Institute of Technology (IT) campus.
